Aston Villa could be set for a double injury boost ahead of their trip to Nottingham Forest on Monday evening.
Steven Gerrard's men travel to the City Ground on the back of three games without defeat, sitting 14th in the Premier League table. Former Reds wing-back Matty Cash has missed the previous two games after being forced off with an injury in the 1-1 draw with Manchester City before the international break.
The injury forced the 25-year-old to miss Poland's Nations League fixtures against Netherlands and Wales. Cash made more than 140 appearances for the Reds after joining them in 2014. He scored 13 goals and registered another 15 assists before earning a £14million move to Villa. Last month, Cash discussed his Forest exit and hinted that he could have stayed if the club secured promotion in 2020.

Gerrard confirmed that Cash will return to full training this week and is "ready" to return to action. Ashley Young has played in the previous two games, with Ludwig Augustinsson playing at left-back last weekend. However, the Swedish full-back was subbed off at half-time with a suspected hamstring injury.
Villa may also have defender Calum Chambers available after Gerrard confirmed the Englishman "should be available" for next week's game. The Villa boss said: "Calum should be available (vs Forest). He had something in his appendix where he had to have a small procedure. He's in a little pain at the moment but, when we're playing the following Monday, it should help and get him available.”
