Mike Krack was clear as he sent a warning to Formula 1's top teams, telling them: "We are here to win".
It was the pledge made by billionaire Lawrence Stroll when he bought the Silverstone team, back when it was branded as Racing Point. They may be short of race wins and podiums, but no-one can accuse Aston Martin of a lack of ambition.
And in his latest update on their progress, team principal Krack did not come across as a man whose resolve has been diminished. "In the future, I see Aston Martin F1 as a team where success is the norm – I see a team that's not surprised to be on the podium, that's not surprised to be winning races," he told the team's official website.
