New Delhi: The Congress has on Sunday released first list of candidates for upcoming Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana.

The list includes 30 candidates for Chhattisgarh, 144 candidates for Madhya Pradesh and 55 for Telangana.

The ruling party in the state has fielded Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel from Patan and Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo from Ambikapur. The list for Madhya Pradesh includes former Chief Minister Kamal Nath and former Minister of Higher Education Jitu Patwari.

Telangana is set to witness a triangular contest between the BJP, the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), and the Congress in the upcoming assembly election. In the previous Assembly election held in 2018, BRS managed to win 88 seats out of 119.

The elections will be held from November 7 to 30. The counting of votes will be done on December 3.
