Asian Games: Vidarbha bags golden share in India's tally, archers excel

NAGPUR: Young small-town players striking it big for the country seems to be the flavour of the season, and Vidarbha is no exception.

A day after Ojas Deotale scripted history by becoming Nagpur's first Asian Games medallist, the 21-year-old teamed up with Prathamesh Jawkar - son of a farmer in Buldhana - and experienced Abhishek Verma of Delhi, to help India secure its 21st gold medal. The trio outplayed archery powerhouse Korea 235-230 in the Compound Men's Team final at Hangzhou on Thursday.
