Asian-American Voters Swung to Trump in 2024, and Nearly 70% of Them Now Disapprove of His Presidency

Asian-American voters gave Donald Trump a bigger share of their votes in 2024 than in 2020. 68 per cent of Asian-American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander adults disapprove of the way Trump is doing his job. AAPI Data, a research organisation, ran the poll in January, and just 30 per cent approve.

Those figures land six weeks before the midterm vote on Tuesday 3 November, which decides who runs Congress. About 16M such adults can cast a ballot this year. Nine in 10 of their registered voters intend to do so, the 2026 AAPI Voter Survey found.
