Video footage has emerged showing the aftermath of a melee involving former Wales captain Ashley Williams at his son's football match.
The former Swansea City and Everton star has been charged with improper conduct, including violent or threatening behaviour, by the Manchester County FA following an alleged incident believed to have happened during an under-12s game in the East Manchester Junior Football League between Corinthians and his son's side TSC.
The alleged altercation between Williams and another adult is said to have been sparked following a clash between players on the pitch. The match, which took place last month, was subsequently abandoned, according to reports.
Now, footage showing the aftermath of the incident has emerged, with Williams appearing to be led away from the confrontation.
Mr Williams has denied any wrongdoing and vowed to 'vigorously' defend the charge.
A spokesperson for the 38-year-old said: "Ashley had been assaulted and was defending himself. We have 45 witnesses – including people associated with the two teams who were about to use the pitch - who will back up our version of events and we will defend Ashley vigorously."
The FA have confirmed to WalesOnline that the matter is being managed by the Manchester County FA.
A spokesman for Manchester County FA said: "Following an investigation, Mr Williams has been charged by Manchester FA with an alleged breach of FA Rule E3 - Improper Conduct (including violent conduct and threatening and/or abusive language/behaviour), and has responded to the charge requesting a personal hearing."
