There is perhaps no better feeling than achieving a home design scheme that is as visually appealing as it is practical. Actor and Frenshe creator Ashley Tisdale is proving to us that a patterned backsplash can be just as impactful as artisanal tiling or intricate wallpaper. The High School Musical star recently posted a photo of her kitchen on Instagram, which follows a mainly neutral motif, from the white marble island to the spherical black and white hanging light fixtures. It's all subtly tied together with the patterned black and white backsplash, evoking a tile effect.

We particularly love how Tisdale's backsplash is coherent with her black, painted shelving and stove hood, creating a uniform appearance in that corner that is complementary to the lighter and textured elements in the rest of the space.
