Ashley Cain was visibly emotional this afternoon after completing a 100-mile run in memory of his late daughter Azaylia Cain, to mark the first anniversary of her death.
The reality TV star, 31, and his ex-partner Safiyya Vorajee, 33, tragically lost their daughter when she was just eight months old, after she'd been diagnosed with leukaemia.
Its the first anniversary of her passing today (April 24), with her proud father having been determined to mark the date by running 100 miles in honour of Azaylia and her charity.
The initiative saw the Ex on the Beach alum leave hometown Nuneaton, in Warwickshire, yesterday morning, with it having concluded in Trafalgar Square in London today.
He was greeted at the finish line in the capital by hundreds of supporters, including family and friends, following the run - which Ashley managed to complete in just over 24 hours.
Footage taken as he reached the crowd - shared on Instagram by The Azaylia Foundation charity - showed the former footballer visibly emotional following his impressive feat.
It show the crowd chanting "let's go champ" as he approaches, with the teary-eyed father having been embraced by supporters, with one heard telling him how "proud" they are.
The 100 mile run was created by Ashley as a way to honour the memory of his late daughter, with it having also raised further awareness of charity The Azaylia Foundation.
Set-up by her parents, it aims to support families that arre fundraising for treatments not readily available on the NHS and to provide memorable experiences to children.
In a post ahead of the run, Ashley said that he wanted to help the charity "be seen and heard," with him hoping to raise awareness and understanding around childhood cancer.
He was joined along the way by a number of supporters including adventurer Ant Middleton, 41, who accompanied him during the final few miles of the recent initiative.
Ashley had said at one point during the run that he was "physically, mentally and emotionally [broken]" but he was determined to finish the project in honour of his late daughter.
He has previously shared his commitment to supporting others, stating that he will "fight till the day [he dies] for other children and their families who face the monster that is cancer."
