Ashley Banjo says 'it's not our babies' fault' as he discusses his marriage breakdown

Ashley Banjo has opened up about his relationship with ex-wife Francesca after the couple got divorced. The pair had been together 16 years when they decided to split.

But the Diversity dancer said the pair have managed to remain friends following their split and continue to co-parent their two children Rose, four, and Micah, two, according to OK!. The 34-year-old talked about his relationship with Francesca, 36, on Loose Women this morning.

Coleen Nolan complimented him on remaining friends with his ex-wife. To which Banjo replied: "That’s all that matters at the end of the day.

"We met when, well I was 16, I think people change and grow. We were babies. That’s not our babies’ fault."

He added that he wanted to keep on good terms with Francesca. He wanted the pair to create a "love-filled" environment for their kids.

The couple announced they had split up in December last year. In a message at the time, they wrote: "Our main focus will always be our beautiful children. Every decision that has been made is to make sure we can continue as a loving family and give the very best of ourselves as parents.

"Raising Rose and Micah in a healthy and happy environment is the most important thing to both of us. Sometimes after so many years people just move in different directions, but we do so lovingly and we continue to try and be both the best parents possible and the best of friends to each other."
