Angry customers of supermarket chain ASDA have slammed the store for remaining open for a period of time on the date of the Queen's funeral.
ASDA has announced it will remain closed up until 5pm on Monday, September 19, as a 'mark of respect for Her Majesty The Queen' but angry shoppers have dubbed this a 'bad decision' and 'disrespectful' to the late Queen.
Most of the UK's supermarkets will be closed on Monday as a mark of respect on the day of the Queen's funeral. The day, September 19, will be a bank holiday - but ASDA have decided to remain open for some of the day.

Hundreds of angry shoppers have taken to the supermarket chains Facebook post, which announced the news this afternoon (Tuesday 13), to share their disappointment in the store.
A spokesperson for ASDA said: "As a mark of respect for Her Majesty The Queen, all Asda stores will be closed from midnight on the evening of Sunday 18th September to 5pm on Monday 19th September to allow our customers and colleagues to recognise the passing of our late Monarch and commemorate her steadfast service to our nation.
"We will not be offering any online delivery slots on Monday 19th September. We are in the process of contacting customers with slots booked to rearrange their delivery."
One angry customer, Carol Hawksworth, said: "Shame on you Asda you do not have enough respect for the late Queen our country, or your staff that you cannot close for the whole day surely people can manage for one day without your stores being open."
Jessica Louise commented: "I feel like opening at all on this day is highly disrespectful. This is the day of the Queens funeral. This is ultimately to gain profit as everywhere else is closed ! Bad move Asda."
A comment by Alicia Tidy read: "This is completely ridiculous.. either shut completely or have the store open. It’s a mark of respect. Plus it’s a bank holiday so is Asda opening till 8 or 10? Like it’s pointless!"
Lyndsey Bowman said: "Shocking Asda as a mark of respect BAU should stop, we can all go 1 day without needing spend money in your stores! The country should come to a standstill at this extremely sad moment in history to pay our respects to an extraordinary leader and allow your staff to honour her historic reign. Shame on you"
Craig Adam added: "Bad decision, should be closed all day next Monday as a mark of respect to Her Majesty The Queen. I'm sure people can cope with Asda being closed for a whole day as can buy essentials the day before on the Sunday."
