Shoppers who buy milk at ASDA have been left baffled after noticing what's behind the cow on whole milk carton labels. Millions of us buy milk every day, but only now are people realising what's actually on the carton of some ASDA bottles.
The ASDA milk label is so controversial, it's now causing an argument amongst shoppers online. Nobody seems to be able to agree on what it is.
One shopper took to Reddit to question it. They wrote: "Asda milk carton has a mysterious white rectangle on the hills. Why?"
But other social media users couldn't agree on what it was. Some thought it was a door in the middle of the field, while others assumed it was a wooden picket to hold the 'sign' with the text on up, says the ECHO.
One user said: "Cow door. Most fields have them." Another said: "It's a door, like the one in the Truman Show. It's a metaphor signifying the caged, controlled lives of the moo-creatures." A third said: "It's the post holding up the sign with the large lettered MILK on..." Another added: "It’s the pole for the Asda sign with the writing on."
Meanwhile, a third gave a more educated answer, using an image from a similar product to come to a conclusion. They shared a link to the semi-skimmed milk which showed it more clearly as part of the sign as someone else commented: "Mystery solved."
Manchester Evening News has contacted ASDA in the hope of solving the mystery for good.
