Asda shoppers can claim free £15 through Christmas saving scheme until tomorrow

Savvy shoppers have just one day left to claim £15 for free at Asda in time for Christmas as part of the store’s reward scheme.

Asda has a physical card that customers can top up like a gift card - but the name of the game is to save, rather than spend.

The supermarket chain rewards shoppers for how much they have left on the card by a cut off date - with the maximum bonus topping out at £15 for the thriftiest of spenders.

You can pick up a card instore or order one online, though the cut-off to sign up for the reward deal is 5pm on November 13.

The reward brackets are as follows:

  • £1 bonus when you save between £30 and £79
  • £3 bonus when you save between £80 and £129
  • £6 bonus when you save between £130 and £179
  • £9 bonus when you save between £180 and £229
  • £12 bonus when you save between £230 and £279
  • £15 bonus when you save £280 or more

If you lose your card, the store will replace it and you will still have the same balance as you did before. But, as with all reward schemes across big supermarkets, your savings are not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme should the store go bust.

Another popular scheme is the one offered by Iceland, though this is all year around, so not technically a Christmas plan, but still helps to save those pennies as it rewards you with £1 for every £20 you put away.
