ASDA shoppers 'appalled' by new rules for anyone buying own-brand food

Supermarket giant ASDA is facing a furious backlash from angry shoppers after bringing in new rules for anyone buying its cheap Just Essentials range. The retailer was previously praised for the range, which allows cash-strapped shoppers to do their weekly shop on a budget, but now it's causing a lot of upset for some.

ASDA shoppers say they are 'appalled' by the new rules, which limit how many items each shopper can buy. Under the new rules, shoppers are only allowed to buy a maximum of three of each item per supermarket visit.

Signs have been placed around supermarkets advising of the new rules. The signs read: "We love that you love Just Essentials and we're working hard to keep up with demand. To help make sure customers can get what they need, we're limiting purchases to 3 of each product per customer for a short time."
