Asda shopper left gutted after paying £20 for Easter eggs that did not exist in store

A mother has been left gutted as Asda failed to deliver any of the Easter eggs she ordered for her seven children and granddaughter. On Thursday (April 14), Tracy Smith, 43, paid for £20 worth of Easter eggs.

Upon delivery, she was told that none of the Easter eggs were in stock. Tracy had planned to give out the eggs on Easter Sunday (April 17), reports Yorkshire Live.

The mum-of-seven from om Queensbury near Halifax in Yorkshire, said: "I ordered three large eggs and lots of smaller ones to do an egg hunt Sunday morning. I ordered them along with my usual weekly grocery shop and placed the order on April 14.

"All eggs showed as being available so I was disappointed and frustrated when they were unavailable but not necessarily surprised as Asda are quite poor at having stock, especially for seasonal occasions."

Tracy says she is now "£20 down" until Asda refunds her and the lack of eggs meant she had to go "on a mad rush" to find replacements on Good Friday (April 15) evening, with the Yorkshire mum eventually buying them from Tesco and receiving a delivery from Sainsbury's.

After noticing none of the eggs were available, despite paying for them, Tracy tweeted Asda's service team and said: "When you order all the Easter eggs for your kids to be delivered and they're all unavailable, great. Thanks Asda."

The team responded by apologising and Tracy said as well as the refund, Asda has offered her a £15 voucher to spend in store as a goodwill gesture.
