Many of us have an ASDA store nearby and if you've never shopped at the Walmart-owned store before the supermarket's new reward scheme might just persuade you. The loyalty programme has been rolled out in all of the UK's 633 supermarkets including Edinburgh.
ASDA Rewards was successfully trialled in West Yorkshire and the midlands and is an app-based programme that prides itself on "pounds, not points". It's a simple concept and we have provided you a rundown of what the app features and how it can earn you money off.
How does ASDA Rewards Work?
First, you need to download the ASDA Rewards App at either the Apple App Store or Google Play store for Android users. It will ask for your name, email and address and once you're registered, you will have access to all of the money-saving features.

You can then begin building up your ASDA Rewards Cashpot. The app can be scanned when you check out both in store and online.
Star Products
Star Products are highlighted throughout the store and can't be missed. If added to your basket, you will get 10% back into your Cashpot.
There are around 400 Star Products. These include ASDA's own items and branded products.
Missions
In-app "missions" are themed by product types and can earn you cashback once you hit a particular milestone. For example, there is the Back to School Mission which gets you £5 in your Cashpot when you spend £25 on George school uniforms, while the Fruit and Veg Bonus earns you £1.50 if you buy any 10 fruit or vegetable products.
Cashpot
You can keep track of your Cashpot in real time as you shop. When it's time to redeem the ASDA Pounds in your Cashpot, you do this by creating a voucher within the app which is useable at any time.
How to spend your ASDA Rewards
ASDA Pounds will add up automatically in the Cashpot when shopping online and in store. These are then converted into money off vouchers which are redeemed when you pay.
The voucher must be used within six months of earning it or it will expire. To find out more about ASDA Rewards, visit the ASDA Corporate website.
