Asda offers discount for people who have certain jobs

Supermarket giant Asda has made some small changes to help people in certain professions obtain discounts that will help them cope with the cost of living crisis. Vital workers such as those in blue light and care services, as well as Asda colleagues, can now access a range of products at reduced prices thanks to the important changes.

Those carrying a Blue Light Card, such as NHS, emergency services, social services and armed force workers can benefit from 10% off at any Asda store. Furthermore, newly recruited Asda workers no longer have to wait out their 12-week qualifying period to access the discount - it is immediately available.

The changes were made after the announcement on Wednesday that UK inflation is now at 9%, its highest rate since 1982. Asda recruits around 2,000 new starters each month and with no cap on how much colleagues can spend using their discount card, the benefit is worth around £400 per year to colleagues, as seen in BirminghamLive.
