Asda makes big change to its rewards loyalty app and Cashpot vouchers

Asda has added a new feature to its Asda Rewards loyalty app to give customers more time to spend their Cashpots.

The supermarket is extending the period that customers have to spend a voucher after creating it in the app from one to three months. The change means that those customers who like to build up their Cashpots for special occasions will now have longer to use the voucher once it has been created.

Asda is also reminding customers that any unused cash in their Cashpots that has yet to be converted into vouchers will expire six months after the month in which the cash was earned.

This means that anyone who began using Asda Rewards last July needs to convert the money they earned in that month to vouchers before the end of January. Customers will also receive a notification in the app reminding them of the amount that is due to expire from their Cashpot each month.

Mark Baxter, Asda’s Senior Director of Loyalty, said: “We know that many Asda Rewards customers like to save up their Cashpots to spend at special occasions. This change means they now have longer to use their rewards and importantly can build up even larger amounts to use whenever they choose.”

Asda Rewards continues to be hugely popular, with more than three million customers regularly using the app to earn pounds every time they shop with Asda, and almost £20m worth of Asda Rewards vouchers were spent in store during December. Vouchers can be created with as little as £1, and with the maximum voucher amount at £100, there are plenty of ways that customers can utilise their cash pots.

The current savings on the loyalty app complement wider Asda’s community programme which supports communities that may be struggling with the rising cost of living. For example, Asda’s Winter Warmer and Kids Eat for £1 deals have just been extended until the 31st March 2023.
