Supermarket chain Asda has issued a statement after aisles of frozen foods were found empty by shoppers. Refrigerators in Asda on Radford Road in Hyson Green were blocked off on Thursday (July 21).
It comes after Nottinghamshire's record temperature was broken on Tuesday (July 19) scorching temperatures of 40C hit the county. The soaring temperatures caused much disruption to schools and transport systems and a number of fires were reported.
Three aisles where frozen items are usually displayed in refrigerators at the Hyson Green store were seen empty on Thursday. A customer notice on the freezers read: "Due to a refrigeration breakdown all stock stored in this fridge/freezer is unavailable. We are extremely sorry for any inconvenience this has caused and we are trying our best to have this fixed as soon as possible."
