Supermarket giant Asda has had to limit the number of items shoppers can buy from its new Just Essentials budget brand, to stop customers clearing the shelves.
Bargain-hunters can now buy no more than three of the same item from the new range, and the rule is for both online and in store. The limit is per item, so there is no limit on the overall number of items you can buy from the range.
An Asda spokesperson explained that the range, which was launched in May, has proved really popular with customers and the grocery chain wanted to make sure as many people as possible can continue to buy the products in reasonable quantities while Asda worked hard to get the out of stock products back on to the shelves as quickly as possible.
