Asda driver who found woman, 90, sat alone in the dark praised for kind action

An Asda delivery driver has been hailed as a 'hero' for the way he responded to finding a 90-year-old customer sat on her own in the dark. Michael had found the woman in darkness in her home as her lightbulbs had blown and she wasn't able to change them herself.

The 23-year-old, who works as a home shopping driver for the supermarket's Hartlepool store, then changed her bulbs for her, saying it only took a minute. The woman, who has mobility issues, had been waiting for her carer to arrive to get the lights back on again, Manchester Evening News reports.

Michael, who has worked at the store for a year, said: "I couldn't leave her in the dark so I just asked her where her spare bulbs were and quickly changed them all. It only took a moment, but she was very grateful.
