Asda delivery driver hailed a 'hero' for what he did after finding 90-year-old sitting in dark

An Asda delivery driver has been called a "hero" for what he did after finding a 90-year-old customer sitting alone in the dark. When home shopping driver Michael, from Asda's Hartlepool store, turned up to deliver groceries to the customer, he discovered that she was sitting in the dark as her lightbulbs had just died.

What he did next has earned him praise from scores of people. The lady, who struggles with her mobility, said she couldn't physically change the bulbs in her flat herself and was waiting for her carer to come and do it for her so kind-hearted Michael stepped in and changed them.

Michael, who's 23 and has worked at the store for a year, said: "I couldn't leave her in the dark so I just asked her where her spare bulbs were and quickly changed them all. It only took a moment, but she was very grateful.
