Asda delivery driver called a 'hero' after finding 90 year old woman sat alone in the dark

An Asda delivery driver has been called a 'hero' after he found a 90 year old woman sat alone in the dark. The supermarket worker has gone viral after his response was posted online.

Michael from Hartlepool was delivering groceries to the elderly customer when he found her sat in the dark. The woman's light bulbs had just gone out and due to mobility struggles, she was unable to change them herself.

Manchester Evening News reports that Michael stepped in and changed the lights rather than leave the lady waiting for her carer to come and do it. Michael, 23, has worked for ASDA for one year and said: ""I couldn't leave her in the dark so I just asked her where her spare bulbs were and quickly changed them all.
