ASDA shoppers are being made aware of an update being made to the supermarket's Reward App that'll impact users. The app first launched last year after a successful trial and is designed to help customers earn 'pounds' that they can they spend on future grocery bills.
The way it works is by each time a user spends money in store or online, they will be credited ASDA Pounds after scanning a barcode or logging into their account whenever they are paying for items at the checkout. These 'pounds' will then be put into a Cashpot, which will convert the 'money' into vouchers users can then spend at the store.
On the Rewards App, customers can also add into the Cashpot through missions and Star Products. But, this week, ASDA has sent out emails to users with an important alert.

In the email, the supermarket warned that customers may need to re-enter their login details to access the app again following an update. As reported by the Liverpool Echo, the email reads: "We’ve made some updates to our app which means that you may need to log back into Asda Rewards.
"We’re contacting you on the email address you used to sign up to Asda Rewards, so please use this to log back in. If you have forgotten your password, please tap 'Forgotten password' when prompted on the app sign in page, then sign back into Asda Rewards."
ASDA customers who are part of the Blue Light Card Scheme will be able to get the 10 per cent discount by scanning their Rewards App from May 4. When shopping in-store, card holders who scan their Rewards app at checkout will no longer need to present their Blue Light Card and ID, as was previously the case.
Blue Light Card holders who scan their Rewards app in-store for the first time between 4 and 31 May, will also receive a £2.50 bonus in their Cashpots, deposited in June.
