A new supermarket is to be launched by one of the billionaire brothers who own Asda.
BusinessLive reports that Euro Grocers will open in Blackburn - the hometown of Zuber Issa and his brother Mohsin who is not involved in the venture.
There are plans for just one store for the time being, which will focus on fresh food and include a butcher and fishmonger.
However, more sites could be launched if the trial proves to be successful.
The business will be standalone and will not form part of the wider EG Group, which operates petrol stations and fast food outlets in Europe, the United States and Australia and was founded by the brothers.
Zuber and Mohsin Issa started out with just one petrol station in Bury, Greater Manchester, before growing their business empire to other locations and founding Euro Garages.
The brothers teamed up with private equity giant TDR Capital to form the EG Group and purchase sites throughout Europe.
The pair also used their relationship with TDR Capital to finalise their acquisition of Asda, which is separate from the wider EG Group.
BusinessLive understands that the Euro Grocers store - for which no opening date has been confirmed - takes up 6,000 sq ft of space and also includes an on-site Ambala (Indian sweets/savouries) concession.
Around 40 car parking spaces will be included on the site in addition to self-checkouts and a free cash machine.
