Lucknow: Giving a new turn to Umesh Pal murder case, a video of Asad and other shooters, who were named in the murder of Umesh Pal and two policemen in Prayagraj at Bareilly jail has gone viral on Sunday. Police is investigating the matter.
Bareilly's Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prabhakar Chowdhary confirmed that the video of the shooters who came to meet Ashraf in Bareilly jail has gone viral. Chowdhary said appropriate action would be taken after proper investigation.
According to Dynamite News correspondent, in the video, Atiq's son Asad, Ghulam, Guddu Muslim, Usman and other accused can be seen leaving Bareilly jail together.
It is believed that the planning of Umesh Pal murder was given a final shape in this meeting which lasted for more than two hours.
Umesh Pal was the prime witness in a murder case against Atiq Ahmed. Atiq and his brother Ashraf were killed by 3 assailants in police custody on April 15.
Two days earlier, Asad and Ghulam were killed in an encounter by the Special Task Force (STF) of UP Police in Jhansi.
Earlier on March 6, Usman was also killed in a police encounter, while Guddu Muslim is still absconding. Umesh Pal was murdered in Prayagraj on February 24.
