It was the big political question of the summer, for her constituents at least: where was Nadine Dorries?

The MP – who finally resigned on Saturday two-and-a-half months after first announcing her intention to step down – may have been out of sight, but certainly not out of mind for many voters in her Mid Bedfordshire seat, whose patience with the former culture secretary had been worn thin.
