Volta a Catalunya: Tadej Pogacar completes domination with stage 7 win
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the final stage of the Volta a Catalunya!
A handful of riders are on the attack from the start today in the flat early section of the stage.
Georg Steinhauser (EF Education-Easypost) has Harrison Ward (Cofidis), Idar Andersen (Uno-X Mobility), Ander Okamika (Burgos-BH) and Jimmy Janssens (Alpecin-Deceuninck) with him in the move.

The riders out front have 1:50 in hand over the peloton currently.
They're heading uphill to the third-category Coll de la Creu d'Ordal now.

No change in situation at the head of the race as the riders come over the top of the hill.
Today's stage might yet end up being shortened or neutralised if the weather is bad enough on the closing circuit in Barcelona. A decision is expected to be taken by race organisers shortly.

It's still the same five riders out front currently with an advantage of 1:50 on the peloton.
The race will now be turning back towards Barcelona on the way to the closing circuits.

The weather has been dry so far but heavy rain threatens the finish.

Just 45 seconds left for the breakaway now.
Steinhauser and Andersen now out in front after a split in the break.
Five laps to go.
Marc Soler (UAE Team Emirates) made it across to the break and he's in the second group.
More riders attacking from the peloton now on the hilly circuit, though Pogačar is keeping things in check at the front.
A large portion of the break has been brought back now.

Steinhauser and Andersen pass through the finish line again.
They're still 50 seconds up on the peloton.

And now Steinhauser passes through the finish line again. Three laps to run.
The peloton not far behind Soler and Paret-Peintre.
The pair have now caught Andersen to make it three in the chase.
Just 30 seconds between Steinhauser and the peloton.
The chasing trio will soon be caught.
Now it's all back together behind with Steinhauser on his own out front.

Steinhauser makes it to the top of the climb in the lead again but he won't last too much longer.

Lots of riders off the back of the peloton under the high pace now being set by Ineos Grenadiers.
Steinhauser just 10 seconds up the road now.
He passes through the finish line once again. Two laps left to go.

Back on the climb and the peloton are closing in.

Steinhauser is finally caught.

Meanwhile a handful of riders are caught in a crash at the rear of the peloton.
Castrillo had a small gap but he's caught before the top of the climb.
Guillaume Martin (Cofidis) is the next to try a move.

Pogačar piles on the pressure and leads over the top of the climb.
He's part of a small group in the lead on the way down.
The front of the peloton isn't far behind.
Now a select group at the front on the way down.

We're nearing the penultimate pass through the finish line now.
Now a larger group at the front as more riders get back across.

Through the finish line again and UAE lead it.
One last climb now.
Ineos Grenadiers lined up behind UAE.
Thomas De Gendt (Lotto-Dstny) tries an attack on his last career day in Catalunya.
The 37-year-old Belgian has five stage wins at this race over the years.

He has a decent gap fairly quickly.
The peloton are closing back in on De Gendt now.
Bora-Hansgrohe leads the group past De Gendt.
UAE also moving up.

Stephen Williams (Israel-Premier Tech) attacks!
Pogačar leads the chase.
Bernal and Mas with Pogačar.
A select group of seven up front.
But the peloton is close behind.

The riders on the way back down the descent now.
It looks like there's around 20 men up front now.

Mas pushing on at the front.
He's pushing on with João Almeida behind him.
Almeida going on without Mas now.

Almeida has barely a few seconds of a lead.
He won't stay away here.

It's lined out at the front under the high pace.

Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) wins stage 7 of the Volta a Catalunya!
He came through ahead of Dorian Godon and Guillaume Martin.
Here's what Tadej Pogačar said after his win...
"I'm so happy to take the win. It wasn't the original plan. Today we tried to go with Marc Soler. He went on the first lap on the climb. He did a super good job. I was trying to follow wheels and stay in front.
"João Almeida set a good pace on the climb and we were a small group in the front. He made a good attack on the last small climb and almost came to the finish. I wish he could arrive but I'm happy to take this win, too."

Slovenian triumphs in reduced bunch sprint ahead of Godon and Martin
Pogačar celebrates his stage win – plus his overall, points, and mountains classification wins!
He wins the overall by 3:41 from Mikel Landa and 5:03 from Egan Bernal.
His 51 points see him dominate the points classification ahead of Landa's 18, while his 103 KOM points see him beat Landa's 70.
Meanwhile, Lenny Martinez (Groupama-FDJ) wins the best young rider prize. He finished seventh overall at 6:02 down.
Bahrain Victorious win the team competition.
Four stage wins and three competition wins. A dominant week for Tadej Pogačar.
