'As captain of this team...': Rohit Sharma hails 'young' Team India in memorable series triumph. Watch

NEW DELHI: In the absence of senior pros Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, a young and new Team India passed the litmus test with flying colours to register a famous 4-1 series triumph over England on Saturday.

The likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel performed incredibly well, handing England their worst defeat of the Bazball era.

After wrapping up the series in Dharamsala, Rohit and Co. re-lived and cherished the incredible moments during the series as with the skipper hailing the youngsters for stepping up when it mattered the most.

From Ashwin's 500th wicket and 100th Test to Jaiswal emerging as the top scorer in the series, a joyous bunch of players shared their ride throughout the long series in an emotional video posted the the BCCI.

The series win was India's 17th consecutive triumph at home. The last time India lost a series in India was against Alastair Cook's England in 2012.

With the international schedule wrapped up for now, the India players will now join their respective franchises for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
