As AQI gets poor, Run for Unity on Gurgaon streets leaves teachers, parents worried for students’ health

GURGAON: The Run for Unity, organised on account of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, saw a pool of concerned parents and teachers as the city woke up to the poor air quality on Tuesday. Despite pollution boards advising people to avoid outdoor activities, especially for children, flock of school kids clad in jerseys and uniforms could be seen running through the hazardous haze across the city.

The Gurgaon air quality index on Tuesday was in the poor category, recorded at 236 on an average. The AQI was recorded up till 283 at the IMT Manesar station on Tuesday. The skyline was blurred with smog on Tuesday all day, as it has been for some time now.
