As An Indigenous Person, These Are The Customs I’d Like To See In Every Workplace

As a Kamilaori and Dharug person, it’s important to me that I acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land from which I write. The Gadigal people of the Eora Nation have cared for and nurtured this land long before any of us stepped foot on it. I want to acknowledge the sun, skies, animals, flowers, waters and soil that the Gadigal people have lived for centuries. The same soil that mothers have birthed their children and created powerful lineages of strong Indigenous people, including those who became the Elders of past, present and emerging.  Workplaces have undergone a massive transformation over the past couple of years, with the pandemic completely changing what we all believed a workplace was.
