Arthur Melo's agent has reportedly arrived at Arsenal's training ground for further transfer talks.
Mikel Arteta and co are bidding to sign the Juventus midfielder on loan until the end of the season.
And Goal claim that the Gunners have made progress, with technical director Edu sitting down with Arthur's representative in north London.
It is claimed that Federico Pastorello travelled to Arsenal’s London Colney training base and arrived on Wednesday afternoon for the meeting.
Mirror Football understands that Arteta has sold his vision to the 25-year-old and he is keen to join the club.
But even if discussions go well, Arsenal are at the mercy of Arthur's current club, who will not sanction a sale unless a suitable replacement is found.
That is despite Bianconeri boss Massimiliano Allegri handing him just 11 starts this season, with the Brazilian's career in Turin struggling to get off the ground since arriving from Barcelona in the summer of 2020.

Not only that, Juve want the loan to be longer than the Gunners' desired length.
According to according to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, an 18-month arrangement would mean the Italian giants have a bigger chance of enticing a replacement.
The six-month deal which Arsenal want comes with a level of uncertainty, with Juventus understandably concerned that a midfield player may be reluctant to join them if Arthur is guaranteed to return after such a short space of time.
The Serie A side are being pushed by Arsenal, who are currently without Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny due to their involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations.
And to boot, Ainsley Maitland-Niles has joined Roma on loan.
Arteta explained the decision to lose the midfielder by saying: "We talked about all the possibilities. When you are finalising a deal there are certain things that you cannot miss out if you want to complete that deal.
"Again, I said the interest of the player was that clear after what happened in the summer that we felt it was the right thing to do and it was a matter of over a day or two that we tried to do that.
"But as well you have to have the player in the right mindset to compete, knowing that he's going to leave in the next day.
"I don't think that we can make a decision that is going to have an impact in the next six, 18 months, just for a day or two, I don’t think it's very logical."
The Gunners manager has also been fairly open about transfer business this month and recently told reporters: "With the amount of things and the way we want to evolve the squad, we have to maximise every window in many different ways.
"We are alert. Edu and his team are working very hard because we know exactly what we need to do. Whether we can accomplish that in January or in the summer is a different question related to other stuff but we are there.
"If it is the right player and we can afford it and we can do what we want to do, we will discuss it and make the best possible decision. We are open."
