Major Arthur Melo injury update emerges as Liverpool midfielder to 'undergo surgery'
Liverpool midfielder Arthur Melo could be facing up to four months on the sidelines amid reports he is expected to undergo surgery on an injury this weekend.
The 26-year-old has only made one substitute appearance for the Reds since joining the club on loan from Juventus on transfer deadline day, earning 13 minutes of match action during the club's dismal Champions League defeat by Napoli last month.

Arthur was missing from the matchday squad for Liverpool's European clash with Rangers earlier this week, prompting questions over why he was absent, with Jurgen Klopp explaining on Friday this was due to an injury the player sustained during Monday's training session.
Such is the seriousness of this setback, the Brazilian international may not be seen until 2023, with any hopes of representing his country at the upcoming World Cup looking to have been ended.

Arsenal summer signing misses training ahead of Liverpool clash as Mikel Arteta without midfield duo
Liverpool are set for their toughest test so far of the 2022/23 season when they go head-to-head with Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners have enjoyed an excellent start to the campaign, winning seven of the eight matches they have participated in this term. Manchester United are the only team to have got the better of the north London side, a defeat which occurred at the start of last month.
A major factor behind Arsenal's strong start has been their inspired summer transfer business, with Fabio Vieira, Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko all hitting the ground running following their arrivals.
Arteta's men have largely avoided injury setbacks this term and enter this weekend's match with close to a full squad being available for selection - although there are a couple of players out, and one more the Gunners boss may be sweating on.
