Art Attack's Neil Buchanan unrecognisable after quitting kids TV show

From balloons to paper stencils, children were taught how to make art with Neil Buchanan. He was the face of CITV's Art Attack from 1990 until quitting the programme in 2007 to join a rock band.

Pictures have since emerged of the 66-year-old who is now totally unrecognisable - far from his clean-shaven look and red jumper television days. He currently rocks lengthy locks which cover his forehead, alongside sporting rugged stubble.

But Neil hasn't ditched the paint brushes and pencils, as he still sketches during his spare time. He first joined Marseilles back in 1976, with the group going on to release four albums and six singles together.

Not so long ago the former kids television presenter was forced to deny he was Banksy after a social media rumour gained traction. Many Twitter users had a theory linking the two after a fan noticed that Banksy's art was popping up in locations where Neil had performed his music.

A statement on his website said: "Neil Buchanan is NOT Banksy. We have been inundated with inquiries over the weekend regarding the current social media story.

"Unfortunately this website does not have the infrastructure to answer all these inquiries individually, however we can confirm that there is no truth in the rumour whatsoever. Neil spent lockdown with vulnerable members of his family and is now preparing to launch his new art collection in 2021."
