Arsenal XI vs Liverpool: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury and Covid latest for Carabao Cup game

An improvement in Arsenal’s availability crisis means they field a strong team for tonight’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Liverpool.

The Gunners were without 13 senior outfield players for Sunday’s match against Tottenham, which forced the north London derby to be controversially postponed.

But they will be relieved to have an almost first-choice team available to face Liverpool. Takehiro Tomiyasu has recovered from a calf issue, while Kieran Tierney has shaken off a knock as both start.

Midfield is a problem area for Arteta, but Martin Odegaard is now available after recovering from Covid-19 and he starts in a deeper role alongside Albert Sambi Lokonga, while Emile Smith Rowe joins them and is expected to start in the number 10 role.

Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli start on the wings, with Alexandre Lacazette leading the line for the Gunners.

Arsenal XI: Ramsdale, Tomyasu, White, Gabriel, Tierney, Lokonga, Odegaard, Saka, Smith Rowe, Martinelli, Lacazette

Subs: Hein, Holding, Alebiosu, Tavares, Partey, Patino, Salah-Eddine, Nketiah, Biereth

Thursday 7.45pm GMT, Sky Sports

Venue: Emirates Stadium

Referee: Michael Oliver
