Arsenal XI vs Brighton: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Carabao Cup today

Arsenal are without William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli for tonight’s Carabao Cup fourth round match against Brighton, but teenagers Max Dowman and Andre Harriman-Annous both start.

Saliba and Martinelli both picked up injuries during Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Saliba was forced to come off at half-time. Martinelli finished the match, but limped down the tunnel following the full-time whistle.

Mikel Arteta confirmed the pair would miss Wednesday’s match at home to Brighton, and he is unsure when they will return.

“[Saliba] is out,” said Arteta. “We are assessing him, but he won’t be involved this match.

“It looks as well that [Martinelli] is going to be out. We have to, again, do some more tests and see the extent of the injury. But this game is going to be too early for him.”

Arsenal have received a boost, though, as Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and Riccardo Calafiori are all fit and on the bench if needed.

Saka was struggling with illness before Sunday’s game against Palace and came off just after the hour mark.

Calafiori and Rice were both substituted before the end of the match due to knocks.

Kepa Arrizabalaga starts in goal and makes his second appearance of the season.

Ben White, Cristhian Mosquera and Myles Lewis-Skelly come into the defence, while there is a full debut for Piero Hincapie.

Ahead of them, Ethan Nwaneri and Christian Norgaard play in midfield, alongside Eberechi Eze, stand-in captain Mikel Merino and 15-year-old Dowman, with 17-year-old Harriman-Annous seemingly leading the attack.

Arsenal XI: Kepa, White, Hincapie, Mosquera, Lewis-Skelly, Merino, Norgaard, Nwaneri, Eze, Dowman, Harriman-Annous

Subs: Raya, Gabriel, Saka, Timber, Gyokeres, Trossard, Calafiori, Zubimendi, Rice

Injured: Havertz, Jesus, Madueke, Martinelli, Odegaard, Saliba

Time and date: 7.45pm BST on Wednesday, October 29, 2025
