Arsenal pulled level on points with Premier League title rivals Manchester City after producing a dramatic late 4-2 home win over Leicester on Saturday afternoon. The dominant Gunners appeared on easy street after totally controlling a one-sided first half at the Emirates Stadium, going in at the break 2-0 in front after the impressive Gabriel Martinelli’s first Arsenal goal since March and a further effort from the returning Leandro Trossard.
Winless Leicester hit back straight after the interval though, with James Justin’s header from a Facundo Buonanotte free-kick deflecting in off Kai Havertz. The Foxes later pulled level after a sensational volley from Justin and appeared on course for an unlikely point as Trossard hit the post and goalkeeper Mads Hermansen made a string of sensational close-range saves.
However, Arsenal would not be denied and ended up netting twice in second-half stoppage time, Trossard forcing what eventually went down as a Wilfred Ndidi own goal before a last-gasp fourth from Havertz was initially ruled out for offside before being given after a VAR check.
