Palmeiras midfielder Danilo has admitted he believes he is capable of proving himself in any competition in the world prompting more talk to arise over a potential move to Arsenal. Mikel Arteta and Edu have been interested in the Brazilian midfielder for some time and a potential transfer could occur in January as Arsenal seek to boost their squad depth ahead of a possible Premier League title charge.
Arsenal were interested in Danilo over the summer transfer window but saw their £21million bid on deadline day rejected, however as per a recent report from Sport Witness, that could be a suitable fee for Palmeiras to accept in 2023.
Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola has listed Danilo as a potential player who could leave the club in January suggesting that if the Gunners were to go back in with a similar bid it would be accepted. Nicola said: “If this proposal is repeated, Palmeiras should end up negotiating the athlete."

Arsenal entering the January market in search of a midfielder looks highly likely and with the Gunners waiting until the contract of long-term target Youri Tielemans expires in the summer as football.london reported earlier this year, Danilo remains an enticing option and recent comments made by the 21-year-old suggest that he would be interested in a move as well.
When asked by UOL Esporte about a possible transfer which included a mention for Arsenal, Danilo said: “I see myself mature enough to be able to play in any competition in the world, I’m ready.”
Despite the long-term interest from Arsenal in Danilo, that the latter is likely aware of, he did remain professional and focused on his current exploits with Palmeiras.
“But I prefer not to get involved with these transfer issues. I told my manager to only talk to me if it’s the right thing," he added.
“Then, we sit down and talk to Palmeiras and decide what’s best for everyone.”
Palmeiras have seemingly outlined the fee they hope to receive and Danilo himself has made the suggestion he would be interested in a potential move. It seems it is now up to Arsenal to negotiate a deal for Danilo, likely to happen in the January transfer window.
