Arsenal transfer rumours: Kessie 'not pleased' with offer, £50m striker demand, Asensio latest

Arsenal had another weekend off from Premier League action, fresh from a last-gasp 2-1 victory against Wolves that maintained the push for a top-four finish.

Mikel Arteta's side will have been encouraged by Manchester United's goalless draw with Wolves, which leaves Arsenal two points off the top four with three games in hand.

On top of that, Arsenal have the midweek off, with no FA Cup action, before Sunday's clash with Watford - and there's still plenty of transfer rumours floating around behind the scenes.

Midfield is one area where Arteta is set to target in the summer window but their approach for AC Milan's Franck Kessie appears to have fallen upon deaf ears, Sport via Sport Witness states.

Barcelona are said to have 'reactivated' negotiations for the Ivorian, who sees his deal expire at the end of the season, while Arsenal's proposals 'have not pleased' the 25-year-old.

Kessie is said to be 'seduced' by the idea of playing for Barcelona too, which means Arsenal have plenty of work to do to get a deal over the line.

Elsewhere, Jeunes Footeux adds Patrik Schick to the growing list of strikers Arsenal are eyeing to bolster their forward line this summer.

The Czech international has excelled this season with 20 goals for Bayer Leverkusen, leading the Bundesliga side to place a £50m asking price upon him.

Finally, Arsenal will face considerable competition in the hunt to land Marco Asensio from Real Madrid as Football Italia names Juventus and AC Milan as interested.

The Spaniard has just 18 months remaining on his deal and could be sold at the end of the season, though Real are still demanding in excess of £50m for his services.
