Arsenal may be forced into action in the January transfer window, with the Premier League leaders handed some worrying injury news regarding Gabriel Jesus.
The Brazilian international striker has been ruled out of the World Cup after feeling a pain in his knee during Friday's defeat by Cameroon. With early reports suggesting he will be missing for between three and four weeks, the Gunners may need reinforcements as they prepare to resume their Premier League campaign in late December.
Tammy Abraham has been a target for the Gunners before, and the English striker is one of the players linked this week.
Here is the latest from north London.
Asensio a January target
Real Madrid's Marco Asensio is a January target for Arsenal, according to Calciomercatoweb (via Goal ). The former Mallorca man could be available in a cut-price deal, with his contract to expire at the end of the season.
Asensio is away at the World Cup with Spain, where he scored in a 7-0 victory over Costa Rica. Luis Enrique's side are set to face Morocco in the last 16 after finishing second in their group.
Arsenal aren't the only team in the running for the forward, who turns 27 in January. AC Milan are also said to be interested in a man who enjoyed the best goalscoring season of his career in 2021-22.
Arsenal tempted by Williams
Another Spanish international on Arsenal's radar is Nico Williams. According to Goal Espana (via football.london ), the youngster has a £42.9m release clause which the Gunners may be ready to meet.

Williams, whose brother Inaki is a Ghana international, featured in all three of Spain's World Cup group games. The 20-year-old only made his senior international debut this year, and scored his first goal for La Roja in a warm-up friendly against Jordan.
The youngster is under contract with Athletic Bilbao until 2024, and Arsenal could face competition for his signature. Chelsea, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly keen on a man who scored in three successive games earlier this term.
Abraham attracting interest
Arsenal have joined Aston Villa in keeping tabs on Tammy Abraham, according to LaRoma24 (via Sport Witness ). The England international striker, who missed out on a spot in the World Cup squad, was also attracting Premier League interest over the summer.
Abraham spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Villa Park, helping them win promotion to the Premier League. The Villans are now managed by former Arsenal boss Unai Emery, who is preparing for his first transfer window at the helm.
Despite the interest, though, reports in Italy suggest the 25-year-old has no plans to move on. Abraham was Roma's top scorer last season, but only has four goals to his name this term.
