Arsenal have backed Mikel Arteta in the transfer market again this summer, and the Spaniard is expected to continue remoulding his squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
The Gunners have already acquired the services of Marquinhos, Matt Turner, Fabio Vieira and Gabriel Jesus in recent weeks, but Arteta is still believed to be chasing another midfielder and a left-back to bolster a squad that came agonisingly close to ending their multi-year exile from the Champions League last term.
As a whole host of names continue to be linked with a switch to the Emirates, Mirror Football takes a look at all the latest transfer news involving the Gunners...
Gunners see Milinkovic-Savic bid rejected
Arsenal have reportedly seen a €50million (£42.3m) bid for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic rejected by Lazio.
That's according to a new report from Calciomercato, who claim that the Serbian midfield star is being tracked by a host of Premier League sides. Chelsea and Newcastle are also admirers of the 27-year-old, but it's Arsenal who have firmed up their interest with a concrete bid.
However, the Gunners offering is a long way off Lazio's valuation of Milinkovic-Savic, which is around €70m. Arsenal's bid was 'not even considered' by the Italian outfit.
Torreira handed reprieve
Join the debate! Who would you like to see Arsenal sign in the next few weeks? Let us know here.
Lucas Torreira could be handed a chance to salvage his Arsenal career after the Uruguyuan outcast was called up for the Gunners pre-season tour of the United States of America.
Torreira has spent the last two years out on loan and was expected to wrap up a permanent switch to Fiorentina after impressing in Serie A last year. However, the Italian outfit have dragged their heels over a deal - and Torreira is now set to play a part in the Gunners pre-season games.
And the midfielder's agent, Pablo Bentancur, hinted to SportItalia, per Tutto Juve, that Torreira could still have a future in North London. Bentancur said: “Torreira would like to stay and play in Italy but as of today, Arsenal have called him up for the tour they will do in America, so it looks like he's part of their plans.”
Edu drops transfer hint
Arsenal technical director Edu has hinted that the club are working hard to capture more new players.
The Gunners have been one of the busier clubs in the Premier League since the transfer window opened, but Edu confirmed that the Londoners are still planning to do more business in the coming weeks.
When he was asked by AFTV about further incomings on the club's pre-season tour, Edu simply replied whilst smiling: “Working on it, yes, we’re working on it.”
