Arsenal have opened talks with the management of Bundesliga star Benjamin Henrichs over a potential move to the club this summer, according to Sky Sports Germany. The 26-year-old RB Leipzig player is versatile, able to play as both a right-back, a wing-back and in midfield.
While talks are claimed to have occurred, the defender is said to only be viewed as a backup target at this stage and it remains to be seen if a deal will be pursued.

Aurelien Tchouameni offer increase
Arsenal are ready to make a move for Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni this summer, according to Spanish outlet Defensa Central. The report claims the Gunners touted the possibility of an opening offer at roughly £69million for the France international, not long after he has made the move to Los Blancos.
With a deal unlikely to be struck there, it is also said that the north London outfit have increased any potential offer to roughly £77million. It comes as Mikel Arteta looks to rework his midfield ranks, though it remains to be seen if such an expensive move would be sanctioned after a string of other huge deals.
Granit Xhaka deal agreed
Granit Xhaka is closing in on a £21.5 million transfer to Bayer Leverkusen in the coming weeks, football.london understands. Reports had previously suggested that the Swiss international was set join the Bundesliga side for a fee worth roughly £13m, however the deal is now set to pocket the Gunners more than claimed.
