Arsenal transfer news: Charlie Patino set to leave on permanent deal after club grant starlet’s wish

Arsenal midfielder Charlie Patino is expected to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Patino has spent the current season on loan at Blackpool and has impressed despite his side suffering relegation from the Championship.

The 19-year-old will have two years to run on his contract in the summer after Arsenal activated an option to extend it earlier this season.

The midfielder is expected to leave the Gunners this summer, though, in search of regular first-team football.

Patino would prefer not to go on loan and is attracting interest from clubs across the UK and mainland Europe.

Arsenal are understanding of the midfielder’s desires and are willing to let him leave during the upcoming transfer window.

Patino has been with Arsenal since the age of 11 after joining from Luton Town and he has caught the eye coming through the various age groups of the Gunners’ academy.

He made his debut for Arsenal last season, scoring off the bench as the club beat Sunderland in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup. Patino also started in the third round of the FA Cup as Arsenal lost to Nottingham Forest.

The Gunners appreciate Patino is a highly-talented youngster and will hope to command a good fee for him. It is thought that a buy-back clause could also possibly be part of a sale.
