Arsenal may have an answer to their ongoing demand for new midfielders. Having spent a large portion of the summer chasing Youri Tielemans they moved onto Douglas Luiz at Aston Villa late on before heading into the season with Thomas Partey as their main defensive midfielder, supported by Mohamed Elneny and Albert Sambi Lokonga.
Partey, having had injury worries over the summer, has gone on to be perhaps the most important player in the side with his energy and physical presence allowing those in front of him to be truly expressive and creative. A statement of this is that he's started 16 of the 19 matches so far including every one since the end of September.
With the Ghanaian man in midfield the Gunners are also yet to lose this season in the league. In all competitions he has only been on the field for one defeat and that was as a second half substitute in the Europa League against PSV Eindhoven.
