Arsenal could still make a January transfer swoop for Leicester City star Youri Tielemans as Premier League top four rivals Newcastle United eye up a move for the 25-year-old. However, immediate interest from Mikel Arteta and Edu in the Belgian has cooled, as football.london understands.
The Gunners were heavily linked to the Belgian international over the summer amid reports that his agent had held talks with Edu. However, Arsenal opted not to make a move for Tielemans and it's understood that a move for him at the time was not close to completion.
There have been some suggestions that Arteta's side could go back in for the 25-year-old in the January transfer window, but that seems unlikely as things stand.
