The summer transfer window is officially in full swing with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu Gaspar already making moves to assemble the ideal first-team squad for next season.
One new name through the door at the Emirates Stadium is Kai Havertz with his £65million move from London rivals Chelsea being confirmed earlier in the week. But how many more signings should Gunners fans expect before deadline day at the beginning of September?
Well, taking into consideration what Arteta has previously said about the ideal squad size should be an indicator: "If you can financially afford it and we don’t have to do the turnaround in the squad that we’ve had to do, if you ask me what I want it's 22 outfield players and three goalkeepers," he said. "You have to come a long way in the aspects that you see on the pitch, it’s a lot of things that have to be put in place, and that takes time."
