Arsenal starlet 'looking forward to what's next' as Mikel Arteta sanctions Championship transfer

Arsenal youngster Omari Hutchinson is expected to go out on loan next season with Championship side Reading keen on the winger, football.london understands. Hutchinson, 18, has been at Arsenal since the age of 11 and has been named among the substitutes on eight occasions in the Premier League this season.

With six goals and six assists in 17 Premier League 2 appearances this campaign, Hutchinson is the subject interest from various clubs in England and abroad, including Championship team Reading who remain confident of securing a loan move for the midfielder.

Youth players including Mika Biereth, Charlie Patino, Zach Awe and Ryan Alebiosu have been involved in the matchday squad this season, and Hutchinson is considered as one of the top prospects at the club right now.

“It is part of the project and it is part of our DNA,” said manager Mikel Arteta. Our academy players have to have opportunities in this club and we want to give them opportunities.

"But we have to give them when they are ready. We will decide, depending on the game, whether or not they are ready to take that next step. When I see them closer I will tell you if they are ready!”

Hutchinson himself is seemingly excited at the prospect of more first team exposure next season. He tweeted on Sunday: "What a season it’s been, many ups and downs but grateful for the opportunities, looking forward to what’s next."

Meanwhile, Khayon Edwards has signed a new deal at Arsenal after protracted negotiations with the club. Edwards has received approaches by Premier League teams including Chelsea and Brighton but the Gunners were confident that he was always going to commit, as first reported by football.london several weeks ago.
