Arsenal star Mohamed Elneny has sent a positive message to fans following his return to first team training ahead of the Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest.
The Egyptian midfielder suffered a muscle injury at the end of August which saw him miss the majority of the Gunners' impressive start to the new campaign. Following his injury, along with Thomas Partey also picking up a knock, Arsenal looked to sign a new midfielder on Deadline Day.
Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz was the target of choice but the north Londoners had three bids rejected before the Brazilian opted to sign a new deal at Villa Park. Mikel Arteta remains keen to add a new central midfielder to his squad, but he will be boosted by the return of Elneny who has impressed in his recent performances for the Gunners.

Following his return to first-team training, Elneny sent a positive message to Arsenal fans on social media. The Egypt international tweeted: "So happy to be back with the boys…Ready to fight."
The 30-year-old has played just 90 minutes so far this season but looks set to return to the matchday squad for the clash against Forest at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon (Sunday). Arteta's midfield option have been relatively light for the majority of the season, with just Albert Sambi Lokonga and Fabio Vieira providing cover on the substitutes bench for the likes of Partey, Granit Xhaka and Martin Odegaard.
