Liverpool have been told to consider signing Arsenal transfer targets Youri Tielemans and Douglas Luiz. The duo, who both see their respective contracts expire next year, were both heavily linked with moves to the Emirates Stadium last month as Mikel Arteta looked to bolster his midfield.
football.london understand that the Gunners were interested in signing the Belgium international in the summer despite having signed a midfielder in the shape of Fabio Vieira. The north Londoners are long admirers of Tielemans but, despite the Foxes leaving the door open to exits, a move failed to materialise.
Meanwhile, Arsenal had also been monitoring Luiz before tabling a bid thought to be in the region of £25million, football.london understand. Arteta's side submitted three bids for the Brazil international after learning that Mohamed Elneny and Thomas Partey would be absent for some time due to injury.

However, despite Arsenal's seemingly strong interest in the Premier League duo, either deal failed to materialise. And, if Jurgen Klopp listens to Glen Johnson's advice then technical director Edu could lose sight of his targets.
Speaking to Bettingodds.com, the former Chelsea defender detailed whether Liverpool should swoop in for Tielemans. He said: "I’d definitely be looking to sign him.
"If it’s safer to secure it now and pay a small fee then I’d do that. I wouldn’t run the risk of allowing anyone else to have him for free. I think he’s the sort of player that could fit into any team relatively straightforwardly."
Then, on Luiz, Johnson added: "He’s another good player. Liverpool probably do need two or three players in the midfield and if you can snap these sorts of players up, that have Premier League experience, for relatively cheap or even better on a free, then it’s a no-brainer.
"We know their squad is quite light and they’re starting XI is hindered quite a lot when they have a couple of injuries. I definitely think they need a few more bodies in there."
Liverpool have become renowned in recent years for an excellent scouting network which seems to rarely fail the German boss. So, if Tielemans or Luiz do become serious target then chances are that they'll prove to be bargain signings.
