Arsenal's two left-back targets revealed as Mikel Arteta 'pushes' for Lucas Paqueta transfer

Arsenal's summer transfer window has been action-packed, to say the least.

The Gunners have already spent over £80 million on Gabriel Jesus, Matt Turner, Marquinhos and Fabio Vieira. They have also missed out on the likes of Brazilian winger Raphinha, who opted to join Catalan giants Barcelona over Arsenal and London rivals Chelsea.

However, technical director Edu continues to scour the market for top-quality players that can help get Mikel Arteta's side back into the UEFA Champions League this time next year, With that being said, football.london has now rounded up three of the biggest transfer rumours involving the north Londoners from the last 24 hours.

Lucas Paqueta latest

Arsenal manager Arteta is pushing for a deal to sign Lucas Paqueta in this window according to French outlet Media Foot. The young coach is said to be a huge fan of the Brazilian international, who scored 12 goals and provided a further seven assists in all competitions last season.

The Gunners are also said to have a great relationship with his parent club Lyon, something that could make negotiating for the 24-year-old a lot easier.

Zinchenko priority

According to The Athletic, Arsenal have accepted that they have likely lost out to Manchester United in the race to sign Ajax star Lisandro Martinez and have now turned their attention to Manchester City defender Oleksandr Zinchenko. The report also claims that the two clubs are in contact over a potential transfer for the 25-year-old and it's believed that the Citizens are open to allowing the player to leave for the right fee.

Gomez alternative

Whilst Zinchenko is said to be a potential target for Arsenal, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has now reported that Anderlecht defender Sergio Gomez is a potential alternative to the former PSV loanee. Like the Ukrainian, Gomez predominantly operated as a left-back but is also comfortable in midfield - making him a perfect fit for the Gunners considering manager Arteta is keen on inverted fullbacks.
