Arsenal ace Thomas Partey has responded to Luis Suarez as part of a tense buildup to the clash between Ghana and Uruguay in the World Cup group stages. The match marks the first time the two nations have met since their fated match at South Africa 2010 in the Quarter-finals.
A back and forth between the South American and African nation, taking the game into extra-time and headed towards penalties at 2-2. In the final minute of the extra 30 minutes, a goalward-bound shot from Ghana was cleared off the line by Suarez, but he used his hand to do so.
The former Liverpool striker was sent off and a penalty was given, though that was missed by Asamoah Gyan, with Uruguay going on to win a dramatic penalty shootout. 12 years on and there's still plenty of dislike towards Suarez in Ghana, though the veteran was still put up for press conference duties in their first meeting since that fateful day.

One Ghanaian journalist put it to Suarez that he is viewed as the "devil" in the nation, but when it came to discussing what happened, he replied: "I don't apologise for it. I apologise if I injure a player but I took a red card for the handball. It wasn't my fault because I didn't miss the penalty."
While Suarez was pressed on the incident, Arsenal's Partey was put up for questions from the Ghana camp and when asked about the match in 2010, he reflected upon it but wants his side to look beyond it: "We want to show we are capable of anything and this is a different game and we need to stick to our plan.
"I was very young and playing colts in Ashiaman. It was a game of football and everything can happen. We had the chance to score the penalty, we were unlucky the ball didn’t go in. We know what we are going to do. We are going in to this game, well prepared, we know what we have to do to be able to win, we have worked hard and stay to the ground of our coach."
